One of the most critical challenges of this project was the combination of an extremely short execution timeline, strict cost limitations, and highly specific architectural requirements. The architect demanded a joint no wider than 5 cm, while at the same time requiring several metal plates to pass through the joint to support the external façade columns.
This condition created significant complexity. In standard solutions, the only way to achieve such functionality would have been by cutting the nose of the horizontal profile. However, this approach would compromise both thermal performance and waterproofing, creating long-term risks for the building envelope.
To overcome this, Aluflor developed a customized solution, designing and producing an entirely new extension of the horizontal profile. Instead of cutting the nose of the profile, the adjustment was made beneath the nose, precisely where the thermal barrier is located. This innovative modification allowed us to:
This tailor-made engineering solution is a clear demonstration of Aluflor’s capability to transform architectural challenges into innovative realities—delivering results without compromising design integrity, functionality, or building performance.
