For the Top Channel project in Albania, Aluflor executed the entire glass façade, using a special custom-colored glass combined with advanced WICONA systems and Interpane high-performance glazing. The façade design was technically challenging, featuring double-plane surfaces and curved forms that required precision engineering and installation.

At first sight, a building of this size covered almost entirely in glass could give the impression of a “greenhouse effect,” with very high indoor temperatures. However, Aluflor resolved this challenge by providing glass with exceptional thermal performance, allowing the investor to reduce the HVAC system capacity by over 40% from the start. This not only improved energy efficiency but also generated significant cost savings on equipment and long-term operation.

Additional highlights of the project include:

•   Thermal insulation performance that eliminates overheating and reduces energy demand.
•   Custom Alucobond cladding on the side elevations, produced to visually match the glass. To the naked eye, the difference between glass and cladding is almost invisible.
•   Architectural impact, with curved and angled glass surfaces creating a modern and iconic landmark.
