One of the main challenges of the CFO Pharma project was that the initial architectural concept envisioned the façade with a metallic mesh cladding. While this solution was visually striking in drawings, it posed significant functional and aesthetic limitations given the building’s strategic location adjacent to the highway and the high standards of the investor. The mesh would have quickly accumulated dust and pollution from traffic, creating maintenance challenges, while also failing to reflect the image, vision, and quality standards of the company.
To overcome these issues, Aluflor proposed a pioneering solution: the use of a double-skin façade system with digitally printed glass panels, a technology implemented for the first time in Albania. This advanced technique — ceramic digital printing on glass — permanently fuses the design into the glass surface during the tempering process, ensuring durability, resistance to fading, and long-term performance. The printed pattern not only provides the desired aesthetic identity, but also contributes to solar control and glare reduction, enhancing both energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
The project also introduced several innovations:
- External Catwalk for safe façade inspection and maintenance.
- Alucobond Cladding for precision and long-term durability.
- Automated Parallel-Opening Windows, a first in Albania, improving natural ventilation and comfort.
Today, CFO Pharma Headquarters stands as one of the most complex and striking buildings in Albania, showcasing Aluflor’s ability to transform architectural challenges into innovative, high-performance solutions.
