The Mercedes-Benz Headquarters in Tirana was one of the first showrooms built under the brand’s new global construction standards, making it a highly demanding project both architecturally and technically.
The main challenge came from the architect’s requirement for extra-large glass panels, both in width and height, so that a car could be fully visible behind a single pane — without any vertical profile in the middle. On top of this, the building itself reaches a height of 12 meters, with no intermediate concrete slabs. The structure supporting the glass also had to remain invisible, leaving a seamless glass façade.
This created an engineering challenge: how to safely install oversized glass panels without visible structural elements. Thanks to Aluflor’s technical expertise, the solution was achieved by redistributing the glass loads across a hidden support system, allowing for uninterrupted transparency, even with the extreme glass dimensions.
Additional features of the project include:
High acoustic performance glass, essential due to the building’s location along the highway, ensuring very low noise levels inside the showroom.
Fast-track execution, with design, fabrication, and installation of four buildings completed in only five months.
Premium quality finishing, meeting Mercedes-Benz’s strict international standards.
The result is a showroom that not only meets but exceeds the brand’s requirements, delivering a landmark building where advanced engineering, precision, and design excellence come together.
